‘America’s Got Talent’ Crowns Season 17 Winner

The Mayyas were declared the overall winners of Season 17 of America's Got Talent after the public voted for their favourite act.

The Lebanese dancing troupe earned $1 million and will perform at the Luxor Hotel and Casino's America's Got Talent Las Vegas LIVE stage performance.

Nadim Cherfan, a choreographer, founded the 36 Lebanese women who make up The Mayyas, an all-female alternative dance group.

They emphasise the importance of empowering women.

Their organization's name is derived from an Arabic term that describes the lioness's regal walk. For the group, it was crucial to compete on the biggest stage on AGT and demonstrate to the world what Arab women are capable of doing because establishing a profession in Lebanon has been challenging, particularly for female dancers.

Tonight at the Pasadena Civic Center, judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and host Terry Crews brought season 17 of "America's Got Talent" to a close.

The top 11 contestants appeared on stage with notable guests such as the Black Eyed Peas, country music stars Darius Rucker and Jon Pardi, musician Trombone Shorty, and previous "America's Got Talent" champions Terry Fator, Darci Lynne, and Shin Lim during the show's conclusion. Comedian Jeff Ross and Emmy Award-winning actor and director Henry Winkler also made an appearance.
